Prompted by a PIRETS user’s question, we’ve just added a new documentation page about the optimal way to configure your server to run cron tasks when using PIRETS. The standard way of setting up Drupal cron task runs is not ideal for PIRETS, since PIRETS may take too much time to download and update listings, causing a server timeout to be triggered and the update process to not finish. Fortunately, there is a better way; unfortunately, it’s a bit more difficult to set up. Check out the new documentation page for the skinny.
Given some recent discussion involving various compatibility issues in the PIRETS forums and issue queue, I’ve started a chart listing the various RETS services that people have attempted to connect to with PIRETS, and what, if any, compatibility issues there were. Please check it out.
If you can help us flesh the chart out by telling us what services you’ve tried using with PIRETS and what, if any, problems you’ve had, please get in touch or leave a comment below. Thanks!
After years of development in one form or another, PIRETS is now available to the public at large! And PIRETS.info is the official site for all things PIRETS. Please pardon the generic theme and spots of missing info on this new site - we’re still building and optimizing this site.
Please take a look around. Our About PIRETS / FAQ page is packed with plenty of information to those new to RETS and/or Drupal. Our Services page has a little bit of information on how Precision Intermedia (the PI in PIRETS) can help you get your PIRETS-powered real estate site up and running, while our Documentation handbook will be helpful if you’re installing and configuring PIRETS by yourself. Finally, check out our community-powered forums is a great place to discuss PIRETS, ask for help, or show off the PIRETS-powered site you’ve built - no registration necessary.
Thanks for stopping by!
